Crannog was founded in 1999 by Frank O’Gara and Gabriele Decker playing primarily Celtic music. Over the years Crannog has been blessed to be able to perform and record with many great musicians and has expanded into other genres while keeping a distinct sound using acoustic instruments and the voices of both Gabriele and Frank. “Crannog is a great band of musicians who specializes in playing traditional style Irish music. I had never heard of the group before until very recently when I had the pleasant fortune to see them perform live at this years Tampa Bay Renaissance Festival. I loved their show so much I purchased their 2006 CD “No Band Is An Island” after their performance was over from them. Glad I did. This is a delightful little album that is well produced as well as performed. The CD includes a booklet that has the lyrics to all the songs performed that have words to them. That is always a big plus to me. Even though these are some well known traditional Irish songs it is nice to have the booklet to glance through with the words inside while the music is playing. If you love Celtic music then give this group a listen.” ~ Janet Chandler
